Drew and Molly discuss with Father Tad what it means to show respect for the remains of the dead and how to ethically handle those remains. They tackle the topic in a wide ranging discussion and from various angles, ranging from the catacombs in Roman churches with bodies and prayer niches, to donating one’s body to science, to cremation and whole body burial and the importance of interment in the dedicated grounds of a cemetery, mausoleum, or columbarium. They take questions from several callers, including a call about the remains of a child from a miscarriage and whether hospitals can make available those remains to the family for burial in the family plot.
